TIPS for the Bridal Look

Happy Tuesday, everyone! As what I promised to do a blog about the bridal look and tips or the do's and dont's.. What you will be reading is base on what I learned from my make-up school, seminars, internet browsing like watching youtube, reading magazines and observing the pictures of the make-ups of its contents, TV shows, and sometimes the make-up of some celebrities in ASAP. :) I know this is weird but sometimes, I took some pictures on the TV and analyze how their make-up was done. heheheh

Anyways, As a hair and make-up artist, it's our responsibility how will the bride look at her best like a stress free, glowing skin, and sparkling eyes. The key on perfect make-up is on blending. blend blend blend

Below are some of my portfolios of my bridal looks (this is in TRADITIONAL Make-up) and most likely these are the looks that I'm giving on the brides but it will still depend on the type of their skin tone, eyes, and facial shape.. I won't be showing any photos of my clients since the picture below is enough to discuss the look of a bride. and please bear with me since I'm a new blogger and just starting to share my knowledge to everyone but I will try my best to deliver my knowledge as clearly as I can...

This blog may also be a guide for everyone who will be attending some gatherings like weddings, bdays, anniversary or even go out on a date without wearing heavy make-up and just be naturally beautiful just like a bride.

TIPS on doing the bride's make-up
Do's
1. Do as clean or perfect as the make-up of the bride. She should be look like a perfect person since that is her very special day and it just happens once in a lifetime. and everyone will be looking at her, she should stand out from everyone else on her wedding.
2. Use primer for much longer staying power of the make-up. If she has dry skin, use moisturizer then primer and if it's outdoor, use moisturizer then sun block, and then primer (the make-up primer always comes last.)
3. Since the bride usually carries stress and no enough sleep prior on her wedding day, conceal the dark eyes 2 tones lighter than her skin(just below the eyes), conceal the unwanted marks or any veins, and pimples. Her eyes should be highlighted since the happiness will be seen through her eyes.
4. Contour properly according on her facial shape. if she has long face, contour the hallow of the cheek horizontally. if she has round, the contour show be inclined to have an illusion of longer facial shape.
6. For the eyes, it she has the asian look like no crease, do the deep set or apply an light earth tone color like brown, blend, darker shade, blend, much darker on the outer V of the eyes to build an illusion of a crease
7. Highlight the brow bone and inner corner of the eyes
8. Use some waterproof products on the eyes (specially the mascara)for the bride has the tendency to cry during her march.
9. For the brow, use not so light and not so dark brown color cake powder or pencil. you can also use the eye shadow powder.
10. For the cheeks, just be careful on applying. do apply the natural blush color. follow the contour and apply just above it
11. For the lips, do apply the natural shade like the peach, coral, etc..

Dont's
1. Don't leave any harsh line. blend after application.
2. For day wedding, don't use any dark shade for it may appear a party girl not a bride and for night wedding, choose some earth tone color on darker shade on the lips and eyes
3. Don't put much shimmer products. as much as possible, use matte make-up but  u can use shimmer or satin finish on the eyes most specially on the lids, brow bone, and inner corner of the eyes.
4. Don't put much shimmer or bronzy blush since the bride will be having the spot light during pictorial, it will just highlight the cheeks. remember: the eyes must be the most highlighted on bride's make-up. unless it's a beach wedding. you can put bronzer for dewy effect..
5. Don't over do the make-up. keep it as natural as it can be. natural make-ups for bride really brings out the beauty of a woman.
6. Don't use very outstanding eyelashes for it may look fake on the photo and the eyes may look sleepy. put the natural false eyelashes or advise the bride to have eyelash extension.
7. Don't use dark pink shade for the bride may look like a debutante. :) brown tone, plum, champagne, peach, coral, or any neutral tone colors are much advisable.

Maybe these are my do's and dont's while doing my bride's make-up. I hope you have learned a lot from what I share. Thank you so much for keep on reading my blogs. wink! :)
